Amazon has a new commercial out promoting the Kindle. The ad features two readers in a room discussing the reading experience –a woman who fetishizes print and a man who owns a Kindle. She argues that print is better because you can read it in the sun and fold down the pages, while the man shows her that the Kindle screen is glare-free in the sun.
The interesting thing about the new “Kindle Friends Ad” is that Amazon is pushing the $114 price tag, which is the price of the new ad-supported Kindles.
I’m curious if consumers will buy into this version of the Kindle or if they’ll pay the extra $25 to not have to be bombarded by ads.
