If you had any doubt that the iPad dominates the tablet computer market, comScore’s data (if accurate) provides evidence that it dominates in generating network traffic compared to other tablets. Smartphones and tablets account for 7% of all digital network traffic in the U.S. The iPad accounts for 97.2% of all tablet traffic in the U.S.
Smartphones and Tablets Drive Nearly 7 Percent of Total U.S. Digital Traffic
Two other tablet related findings caught my attention:
1. Nearly 60% of tablet owners updated their status on a social network in September.
2. While nearly two-thirds (62.8%) of smartphone owners access the net via a mobile broadband connection, only 10% of tablet owners did the same. Tablets, it seems, are primarily used where WiFi is avaiable.
