Thank God the San Francisco bureau of AdFreak is across the country from the 400-pound cheesecake that Eli’s presented to Chicago White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen and team owner Jerry Reinsdorf on Tuesday, or I would go against better judgment and get in line. The gi-normous dessert, a gift to commemorate the World Series win by the Sox, was cut into slices and passed out to 2,000 baseball fans at City Hall yesterday. Who cares if it’s a publicity stunt? That much cheesecake is a beautiful thing, unlike other giant foods, such as Denny’s Beer Barrel Pub 11-pound cheeseburger in Clearfield, Pa. Or, worse yet, the world’s biggest shrimp pizza (blech) at the site of Niyavaran Palace, Tehran, Iran. It’s set to be cooked tomorrow and Friday on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr marking the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.
