The New York Post reports two would-be thieves were arrested after trying to cut down a SpongeBob SquarePants balloon from the top of a Long Island Burger King. Indeed, that’s just the latest in a rash of Sponge-nappings across the U.S. In all, over 100 have been purloined since the 10-foot-tall characters were placed on top of BKs across the country as part of a promotional effort for The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie.
