The marketing for Halo: Reach has run the gamut from quiet exposition to ass-kicking action. What it's been missing is a guy dressed as a Spartan flying around with a jetpack. On Monday morning, Xbox's U.K. marketing team fixed that with a stunt in London's Trafalgar Square to celebrate this week's launch of the game. The guy's awkward, double-hop landing isn't very bad-ass, but he gets points for trying. "One of the coolest new features [of the game] are the jetpacks that Noble Team Spartans are now equipped with," an Xbox rep says. "We couldn't think of a better way to celebrate the biggest entertainment launch of 2010 than with our very own jetpack Spartan in one of London's most iconic landmarks." Blogger outreach could have been better, though. Not even the foremost expert on the subject, Where's My Jetpack?, has written about this.
