John St. in Toronto Shifts Entire Focus to Catvertising

'Nobody wants to see ads anymore. They want cat videos'

John St., the Toronto agency that brought you last winter's wonderful Pink Ponies case-study video (showing how they made an 8-year-old's birthday party a success in an already cluttered birthday market), is back with a new parody clip in which they claim to be shifting their focus exclusively to cat videos. Check it out below. It fits in nicely with our feature from yesterday about how more marketers are targeting dogs and cats with ads. Of course, they're not wrong. If you want a quick 20 million views, you can hire Isaiah Mustafa and spend a boatload on a new commercial, or you can film 29 seconds of a cat that sounds like a person.
