Grubby Old Miners Help Out in Latest Ad for Newcastle Brown Ale

Droga5 mock-exploits the brand's rich heritage

Droga5 and Newcastle Brown Ale continue their comical assault on the clichés of beer advertising with this latest spot, in which the brand's rich heritage is shamelessly faux-exploited and twisted into a sales pitch. The heritage here is embodied by the long-suffering miners of Newcastle, England, for whom a pint of beer was apparently the only bright spot in their otherwise miserable lives back in the 1920s. This spot follows earlier ones from the new "No Bollocks" campaign that opportunistically celebrated the brewer's hands (because his face is nothing to write home about) and its not-very-special glass (compared to Stella's chalice, anyway).
