Landon Donovan is the highest-paid player in Major League Soccer, a leader of the U.S. men’s national soccer team, which heads to Germany this summer for the World Cup, and the owner of a sweet pad in Manhattan Beach, Calif., that will be featured Feb. 1 on MTV’s Cribs. But he’s giving back, too, having signed on to appear in a new national public-service campaign for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. “My goal is to work hard to help the U.S. team win the World Cup this year,” Donovan says in a new TV spot called “Goals.” “But these kids have an even more critical goal,” he adds—surviving cancer. The campaign was created by Banyan Communications in St. Louis.
