Six TV-commercial clichés that refuse to die
Cracked continues its once-unthinkable trend of being funnier than Mad magazine with its list of The 6 Most Baffling Things Every TV Ad Assumes Are True. All of the entries are loaded to the gunwales with snark, even if the subject matter is well-mined ("One car on the road per night") or kind of a stretch ("Cosmetics and candy are the same"). Oddly enough, I'd never given the blue water from tampon ads much thought until I read this, but the almost-numbing dependence on it might explain why I still laugh so hard at Oops I Crapped My Pants.
