Sears Optical's Raccoon Prepares for the Kill

There's something darkly comic about this Sears Optical "Raccoon" spot by ad agency Sponge, which has been airing during the Olympics (and is refreshing for a category that's pretty mundane, at least outside the U.K.). There's the humorous issue of the mistaken identity, and also the raccoon's plucky opportunism as he trots into the house and curls up on the bed of his dreams. But of course, what's most amusing/upsetting is knowing that the woman will wake up in the middle of the night and find a feral creature growing hungry at the foot of the bed. Hopefully they're not airing this in Lakeland, Fla., where the raccoons' preferred method of gaining food is the "gang attack" on humans.
