Schweddy Balls Leaves Sour Taste in Conservative Group's Mouth AFA slams Ben & Jerry's

There was a fair amount of chuckling when Ben & Jerry's whipped out its Schweddy Balls ice cream this month. But the American Family Association is grim-faced about the product. "Ben & Jerry's announced their newest ice cream flavor which sounds anything but appealing," says the group's protest letter, posted on OneMillionMoms.com. "Schweddy Balls is the best they could come up with. The vulgar new flavor has turned something as innocent as ice cream into something repulsive. Not exactly what you want a child asking for at the supermarket." The letter goes on to describe the original Saturday Night Live skit in detail—they've clearly watched it a bunch. Then, it compares Schweddy Balls to Hubby Hubby—the special Ben & Jerry's flavor that celebrated gay marriage. "It seems that offending customers has become an annual tradition for Ben & Jerry's," the AFA says. It goes on to advise this action: "Please send Ben & Jerry's Public Relations Manager, Sean Greenwood, an email letter requesting that no additional Schweddy Balls ice cream be distributed. Also, highly recommend they refrain from producing another batch with this name or any other offensive names or you will no longer be able to purchase their products."
