Lollapalooza limps along with new promo

Palooza_2 I spent the last 20 minutes putting together a Paloozahead in honor of this year’s Lollapalooza tour. It was amusing enough, although my attempt to recreate this man didn’t turn out as well as I’d hoped. The real discovery here was finding out that Lollapalooza is still around. I hadn’t heard about it in years, and was glad about that, because it always foreshadowed a sketchy, mandrogynous picture of Perry Farrell. I understand why I hadn’t caught wind of Lollapalooza once I saw the band roster. There’s a good mix of bands who are at least a decade past their prime (Pearl Jam, Patti Smith, Iggy and the Stooges, Silverchair), bands who suck unless you’re a big fan of college radio (Tapes ’N Tapes, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, TV on the Radio), and bands that just suck in general (Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Ben Harper). Christ, was Henry Rollins too busy to put a band together? Now I know why they were sheepish about promoting this thing.
