John Lydon grateful to have done butter ads

John-lydon

John Lydon's avarice has never been a big secret, so it's no surprise to me that he's now gloating about how pleased he is to have done those commercials for Country Life butter—and how the money he made is what's funding new PiL recording sessions. Lydon disappointed some of his fans by doing the ads for Country Life, which are as surreal now as they were then, but it's not like his Sex Pistols reunions were more noble. Hell, one of them was literally called the Filthy Lucre Tour. All the same, it's easy to understand where Lydon's coming from, considering that he and the other Pistols had to sue to get their rightful earnings out of Malcolm McLaren's greedy pockets back in the '90s. So, chill out and let him have his fun. Unless you still need to bitch about how bad his solo album was—in which case, have at it.
