A great gift, but who will buy it for you?
Copycats are everywhere. On the heels of the Drinking With Steve video barfly/drinking companion (easing the shame of drinking alone) comes a Dutch company that has created a DVD to take the sting out of being alone during the holidays. The video will feature people acting out different scripts for various dining situations, so the viewer can pretend to have company. “The actors can offer [the lonely] a romantic evening or even a good discussion,” says a producer. “We have a good variety in the choice of our table companions.” He doesn’t mention whether that includes Handsy Uncle Larry, Bitter Divorce Judy or Overbearing Mother Mom. But really, without them, would any holiday dinner be complete?
