The ghost creative of Saatchi in Singapore

Makak Saatchi & Saatchi's office in Singapore apparently "invented" an executive, Roger Makak, and the deception was exposed after “Makak” topped Campaign Brief Asia’s creative rankings. Campaign Brief Asia publisher Kim Shaw says the publication is “disappointed that this agency chose to use a false name for work done by someone else.” That someone else would appear to be Saatchi Singapore’s real creative leader, Andy Greenaway, who says Makak “does exist, but not in the form you might think.” (The photo seen here is the one that “Makak” has been using.) All of which has me thoroughly confused, but one thing’s for sure: I’m real. “David Gianatasio,” if you were wondering, is not a nom de plume for Dave Eggers, David Sedaris, Malcolm Gladwell or James Frey. None of those guys can even spell “Gianatasio.”
