Exciting new medium for ‘Wanted’ posters
You’re used to seeing ads from companies like these on the sides of mobile billboards, but in Charlotte, N.C., you may instead see the face of the guy who robbed the liquor store. Police there have struck a deal a with mobile-billboard company to place “Wanted” posters on the ad-sides of trucks. “I think it’s something that folks will pay attention to, especially if it’s driving along the streets and highways. We are a very mobile society,” says a detective. Stationary “Wanted” billboards in town helped to nab three out of five suspects so far; the police hope the mobile ones do even better.
