Elvis Cups. Hold the fried everything.
Elvis didn’t die from poor nutrition. Still, the King’s mania for fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches couldn’t have helped. That doesn’t trouble Hershey’s Reese’s brand, which is launching limited-edition Elvis Cups with peanut butter and banana cream filling. There’s a broad pop-culture joke in there somewhere, I suppose. It would probably mention Cass Elliot, ham sandwiches and potential promotions from cold-cut purveyors. But that would be in extremely bad taste. Just like the Elvis Cup. Though this offering is from Reese’s, so perhaps it will merely be tasteless. (From the department of urban legends: Mama Cass didn’t really die choking on a sandwich, but Elvis did prefer his supper fried.)
