A new Born Free campaign from WCRS in London drums up support for animals who've lost their habitats by portraying them as homeless people. It could be construed as insensitive to the latter, but its heart is in the right place, and the visuals pack some punch—depicting beasts in gritty urban settings, far from their familiar forest and savannah milieus. The elephant in the alleyway looks particularly lost and forlorn. Sadly, such scenes in the real world, beyond their immediate shock value, would generate greater sympathy than the sight of the homeless men and women we pass every day.
