Week of March 10 Morning News Ratings: GMA Repeats at No. 1 in Total Viewers

GMA widened its lead over Today to 77,000 viewers

ABC News’ Good Morning America remained America’s most-watched morning show for the second consecutive week. GMA expanded its total viewer lead over NBC News’ Today to 77,000, easily solidifying its win for the week of March 10.

Unfortunately, all three morning shows posted lower numbers in total viewers and the advertiser-coveted demo of Adults 25-54, possibly due to the advent of daylight savings time.

According to live-plus-same-day data from Nielsen, GMA averaged 2.544 million total viewers and 433,000 A25-54 viewers . Compared to the previous week, the morning show was down -7% in the former category and -9% in the latter. Looking at its performance alongside the same week in 2024 (the week of March 11), GMA was down -5% in total viewers and -17% in the demo.

Today was the No. 2 show in total viewers and remained in first place in the demo with 2.467 million and 635,000 viewers, respectively. Week-to-week, it declined -8% in the former category and -5% in the latter. Year-to-year, Today was down by -3% in total viewers, but up +4%  in the demo.

CBS Mornings landed in third place for the week of March 10 with 1.869 million total viewers and 332,000 A25-54 for respective declines of -8% and -11% in those measured categories. It was the only morning show to see week-to-week double digit declines in either of the measured categories. Year-to-year, CBS Mornings was down -6% in total viewers and -18% in the demo.
