History will be made on Nov. 5… and not just at the ballot box. For the first time in its history, NBC News will provide 24 hours of consecutive live Decision 2024 coverage to local affiliate stations beginning at 5 p.m. (All times Eastern.)
That coverage will originate from the network’s home at New York’s famed 30 Rockefeller Plaza, unfolding on a new and improved election set with virtual reality capability. Additionally, the NBC News Now streaming platform will offer over 40 hours of live programming.
Tune into NBC at 6:30 p.m. on Election Night to see Lester Holt and Savannah Guthrie lead primetime coverage, joined by Kristen Welker, Hallie Jackson, and Tom Llamas, who will be on Big Board duty tabulating all the numbers as they roll in.
Over at the Vote Watch desk, look for Laura Jarrett and Tom Winter to fact-check any misinformation that might be circulating online about the election. Meanwhile, Andrea Mitchell, Ken Dilanian, Julia Ainsley, Brandy Zadrozny, and Jane Timm will monitor concerns over election interference.
NBC News talent will be stationed at the headquarters of both campaigns. Peter Alexander, Yamiche Alcindor, Gabe Gutierrez, Natasha Korecki, and Peter Nicholas will be embedded with Vice President Kamala Harris, while Garrett Haake, Dasha Burns, Vaughn Hillyard, Matt Dixon, and Henry Gomez cover former President Donald Trump. Monica Alba, Mike Memoli, and Aaron Gilchrist will be at the White House as the evening unfolds, and over 100 correspondents will fan out across the U.S. for coverage from key states.
As election updates continue into the early morning hours, Kate Snow and Craig Melvin will take over anchoring at 2 a.m., providing rolling coverage until 6 a.m. Chuck Todd will take over Big Board duties at that point, while Kelly O’Donnell and Ryan Nobles will offer additional analysis. A special edition of Today at 6 a.m. will offer day-after coverage led by Guthrie and Hoda Kotb.
In addition to NBC News Nows, Peacock will also be a central streaming location for NBC News election coverage. The streamer will revive its Multiview experience from the 2024 Paris Olympics, allowing viewers to curate three different views: the NBC News Now feed, a balance of power map and MSNBC’s “Kornacki Cam.”
On the digital side, NBCNews.com will host Decision Desk data and live updates from NBC News talent. The Stay Tuned crew will make their presence felt on various social media platforms, including TikTok and Snapchat, and produced a special election-themed episode of “24 in 24,” which profiles 24 different Gen Z influencers.
