CreatorIQ: Creators Are Driving The Conversation Around ChatGPT and Other AI Tools

CreatorIQ data finds creators have driven 732 million video views and 83 million engagements for popular AI-focused hashtags on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube over the last 14 months

AI tools like ChatGPT have exploded into the public conversation in recent months, with mainstream adoption across small businesses and massive enterprises alike.

But what drove this massive movement? According to an analysis by leading creator marketing platform CreatorIQ, creator posts mentioning #ChatGPT, #OpenAI, #AI, and #ArtificialIntelligence have driven more than 732 million video views and 83 million engagements on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube over the last 14 months. The combined following of creators publishing these posts exceeds 3.6 billion.

And we can expect much more, as the social media audience seems hungry for information. ChatGPT-related content on Instagram to date has performed 34% better than other content in the “technology and computing” category, according to CreatorIQ’s analysis. When published by creators with between 100,000 to 1 million followers, that engagement rate is 79% higher than average in the category.

This “trendjacking” shows no sign of slowing down, as related posts are helping creators engage audiences and increase followers (as well as driving adoption).

Take for instance creator Adrian Twarog, a creator focused on sharing web design and development tips on YouTube since 2020. His first chatbot-related post “What is ChatGPT and How You Can Use It” appeared last December, and eight of the 10 videos he’s posted since have been related to the topic.

According to CreatorIQ, that strategy has boosted his profile significantly. Since November, his YouTube subscribers skyrocketed 60%, and monthly views increased an astounding 794% in the same timeframe.

Fellow YouTuber Nick White, who posts coding-related videos, saw similar results. His “How I Coded an Entire Website Using ChatGPT” published in early January led his January views to increase 332.3% over the average of the five previous months, according to CreatorIQ.

Topics that get a response like this naturally lead to creators publishing more related content. Just look at the increase in posts mentioning the #ChatGPT, #OpenAI, #AI, and #ArtificialIntelligence hashtags across Instagram, TikTok and YouTube since January of this year.
