RADAR Shows Listening Uptick

A total of 184 million persons 12-plus heard one or more network radio commercials each week, up from 183 million just three months ago, according to Arbitron’s just released Radar 99 network ratings.

The RADAR 99 survey period saw an increase in the number of people reached by network radio from the RADAR 98 period.

Among the prime audience demographics sought by advertisers, the commercials aired on the 58 radio networks reached 73 percent of persons 12-plus, 73 percent of persons 18-plus, 73 percent of adults  35-plus, 74 percent of adults 18-49 and 74 percent of adults 25-54.

Dial Global networks nabbed five of the top 10 spots in the report, with ABC and Westwood One rounding out the other spots.
