What's the first information you consume in the morning?
I get up at 3:30, so I just start looking at everything. I check with CBS News, then CNN, MSNBC, local news. And there are these cool things called newspapers [laughs]. They're good, too.

BuzzFeed called you the 'Queen of Instagram.' How did you go about achieving that?
I don't know how I became the Queen of Instagram! There are a lot of people who use it a lot more than I do, but I find, especially when I'm traveling, it's a great way to tell a story. I don't mind making fun of myself or making fun of other people in a good-natured way, so everybody is always in on the joke. The other day, I split my dress when I was getting out of the car, so my butt was hanging out and I posted it on Instagram. People said, "Weren't you embarrassed when you put that up?" No, but my daughter was.

You posted recently that you're a "sucker for infomercials." What's the last thing you bought off TV?
There was something called the Personal Pedi. I think that having nice, soft feet is a good attribute, and it's something that is escaping me at the moment, so when I saw this infomercial, I ordered that little gadget! I am a sucker. I've ordered the most redonkulous things after getting caught up in an infomercial.

What's your favorite app?
I like Shazam. Just the other day, at the end of the new Fast & Furious movie, I went, "What is this song?" So I pulled out my handy-dandy Shazam app and held it up while the credits were going to find out. [The song is Wiz Khalifa's "See You Again."]

What TV shows do you watch?
I drank the Empire Kool-Aid. I'm a TV junkie and I watch a lot of stuff, so I said, "I cannot get hooked on another hour-long show." But then I watched the first episode of Empire and said, "Well, maybe one more." Now I'm all-in on the Empire train. I'm also a big House of Cards fan, and I'm very happy for Matthew Perry's return to TV with The Odd Couple. I think the show is very clever and well done.

Any guilty-pleasure shows?
Yes. And I blame Andy Cohen.

So what's your favorite Real Housewives franchise?
[The Real Housewives of] New York just started again, so I'm curious to see how that's going to work with Bethenny back on the show. But I'm with NeNe and Phaedra and the girls of [The Real Housewives of] Atlanta.

What's on your reading list?
I'm about to catch a plane and I'm bringing Jack and Suzy Welch's book [The Real-Life MBA] to read. I'm going to go do an interview with them, so I want to read their book beforehand.

What magazines do you usually pack in your carry-on?
Of course I have the Oprah magazine. I have People, Time and Vanity Fair. But what I like most of all when I travel is to listen to my iPod. I just ordered the Empire soundtrack, which I love, love, love. I got Madonna's Rebel Heart, which I'm curious to hear. Kendrick Lamar has a new album that I've been reading a lot about, so now I'm going to listen to that, too.
