This past summer, Fox announced it would revive the variety show format with Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne leading the charge. Now, NBC is hoping to do the same with Rosie O’Donnell.

Titled Rosie’s Variety Show, the hourlong live special will air Nov. 26, the night before Thanksgiving. The program reportedly will feature celebrity guests, comedy sketches, music acts and prize giveaways.

In the race to air, NBC likely will beat Fox, which reportedly is readying The Osbournes: Loud and Dangerous for a first or second quarter 2009 launch.
