On the FX series Sons of Anarchy, Season 3 picks up precisely where Season 2 left off: the kidnapping of Jax’s infant son.
Premiering Sept. 7, the show finds the outlaw motorcycle club in search of that kidnapper, and hoping the boy is still alive. And in a narrative twist, whereas timelines for many series can take place over the course of six months, SOA hones more closely to a real time scenario this season, in which the action takes place over the course of two weeks, tops.
With a stellar lineup of actors, and some of TV’s most realistic portrayals of violence, it’s no surprise this biker drama enters its third season with a devoted—and growing—audience. More than 4.3 million viewers watched last season’s finale. And those numbers still seem to surprise the show’s leading cast members—Ron Perlman, Charlie Hunnam, and Katey Sagal—who recently spoke with Mediaweek’s Alan Frutkin about the program.
