As Tribune works to emerge from bankruptcy, the company continued to remake its executive suite Thursday (Dec. 10) announcing that Gerry Spector would take over as chief operating officer. Since December, Spector has served as chief administrative officer.

In his new position, Spector will oversee the company’s Internet, broadcasting and newspaper operations, reporting to Randy Michaels, who was recently named CEO.

“Gerry has led the ongoing transformation of this company from top to bottom,” said Michaels. “He’s strategically refocused the operations of our business units so that we’re more innovative and more efficient than ever before, he’s streamlined the decision-making process and he’s helped drive the reorganization of our sales operation.”

In addition to Spector, Tribune announced other management changes.
