WOWIO Acquires DrunkDuck Comic Book Community
Rich media development company/eBook maker WOWIO has acquired webcomics community DrunkDuck from Platinum Studios in a deal whose terms were not disclosed.
Last week, we reported that WOWIO raised $1.7 million in private financing and acquired WEvolt, a social networking platform that brings together book creators and fans. On DrunkDuck comic makers can share their work and interact fans. Sounds like WOWIO is seeing the benefits in community sites in various eBook genres.
WOWIO’s CEO Brian Altounian had this to say, “Fans, publishers and advertisers will be pleased to know that it will be business as usual for DrunkDuck as well as WOWIO, and with our recent integration plans with WEvolt, we are unifying known entities and melding them into one superior comic and eBook destination.”
