Results, Goals And Player Performance Top #WorldCup Topics For Social Networkers [STUDY]

73 percent of social networkers are posting comments to platforms such as Twitter and Facebook when a goal is scored during the World Cup, reveals a new study from GlobalWebIndex.

In Brazil, this trend skews even higher, with about four in five taking to social media to celebrate a score.

However, amongst social networkers in all nations polled during the study – Brazil, the United Kingdom and the USA – the final result of a match is the most talked about topic online, with the performance of a particular player, the half-time score and the pre-match build-up also receiving attention.
