How Are Airports Using Social Media? [INFOGRAPHIC]

Airlines have adapted to social networking perhaps as well as any other industry, but how are airports allocating resources to social media?

Inconsistently, says this new report from Simpliflying, which reveals that while 98 percent of airports surveyed have social media staff working across departments, more than half (55 percent) of airports invest less than 100 man-hours per month on social channels such as Twitter and Facebook.

Indeed, the biggest challenge faced by airports is the insufficient allocation of resources to social media, with 60 percent citing this as an issue, but 40 percent plan to increase their social budgets in 2013.

This infographic takes a look at how airports are using social media in 2012.
