Russian eReader sales almost doubled in 2010

The US eReader market isn’t the only one seeing exceptional growth. 470,000 eReaders were sold in Russia in 2010, which is a dramatic increase over the 20k thousand sold in 2009. Records also show that only 60,000 in 2008, which means there was nearly an 8 fold increase in only 2 years.

eReader prices are also dropping in Russia, with most devices averaging a 30% decrease. Pocketbook continues to dominate the market with a 40% share, followed by Sony (29%), Lbook (12%) and other manufacturers.
