RIM is in a funny position. It is the smartphone market leader with a diminishing mindshare (if not actual sales) and a couple of recent touch screen duds. Apple’s iPad success is yet another mindshare for RIM since it doesn’t have a touchscreen success story or any tablet product. Yesterday, however, RIM co-CEO Mike Lazaridis announced a potentially interesting tablet product.
