Nook Newsstand Sales Exceed Expectations

Barnes & Noble NOOKnewsstand –Nook’s periodicals store – has sold more than
650,000 subscriptions, more than expected. This news comes as iPad periodical sales have been dwindling.

Since Christmas Day, Nook customers have already ordered 150% more subscriptions than the total number sold over the entire previous 12 months.

Jonathan Shar, VP/GM of digital newsstand at Barnes & Noble stated: “We’ve had overwhelmingly positive feedback from our content partners as well and will continue to build upon our vast collection of periodicals and incorporate even more interactivity for NOOKcolor customers this year.”
