2012: A Year in App Store: INFOGRAPHIC
AppsFire created an inforgaphic called, “2012: A Year in App Store,” which explores the popularity of apps in the App Store.
According to the infographic, more than 339,160 apps entered the App Store this year, up from about 14,479 in 2008.We’ve embedded the entire graphic after the jump for you to check out.
Here is more about the infographic from the AppsFire blog:
- Free is clearly prevailing over Paid. 74% of apps published in 2008 were Paid, in contrast to 34% this year. This can be explained by the growing popularity of in-app purchase as a way to efficiently monetize an app.
- A red flag: Over 25% of the apps submitted and approved have been pulled out of the store.
