California Watch Launches Site to Track Gov Candidates' Statements

Taking a page from Politifact, perhaps, the Center for Investigative Reporting’s year-old California politics and news Web site today launched Politics Verbatim, a new standalone site devoted to collecting every promise, proposal, and argument made by the state’s two major gubernatorial candidates.

Readers can search for statements based on type (“Assertion of fact,” “Candidate attack,” “Policy proposition or proposal,” etc…), by topic, and by location.
