App Discovery Engine Gets $50 Million in Funding

Mobile app discovery engine Quixley has raised $50 million in financing from the Chinese Internet giant Alibaba.

The money will be used to help the company expand on its app discovery tools, which currently allows users to search for apps based on what the apps do. The idea is also to help bring about better search within apps.

Here is more from the Quixley blog:

The additional $50 million, which brings our funding total to $74.2 million, will be used to further develop our market leading Functional Search technology, which currently allows users to find apps by describing what they want to do.
