The Weather Channel Radio Network has switched networks. Beginning Jan. 1, 2010, Westwood One will serve as TWCRN's exclusive affiliate and advertising sales representative.

The agreement, announced Thursday (Sept. 3) is for three years.

Cleared on nearly 700 radio stations with a presence in 42 of the top 50 markets, TWCRN had been repped by Dial-Global, which included TWCRN inventory as part of Dial-Global's highly rated Adult Power Network measured in Arbitron's RADAR network radio service.

"We believe our partnership with Westwood One will accelerate the growth of our radio network dramatically, and bring the most depended source of weather information to an even larger radio audience," said Mike Pons, vp and general manager of TWCRN.

Dial-Global, which was outbid for TWCRN, has plans to replace the inventory in its Adult Power Network, according to sources.
