USA's Torrid 'Affairs'
USA Network cranked out some scorching ratings numbers Tuesday night, as the new summer series Covert Affairs secured its strongest deliveries to-date.
Per Nielsen live-plus-same-day data, Covert Affairs scared up 5.36 million total viewers in its 10 p.m. time slot, a gain of 4 percent from last week’s 5.17 million. Last night’s episode edged the series’ previous high of 5.3 million viewers on August 3.
The Piper Perabo spy caper also appears to be aging down a bit. The August 17 installment (“Houses of the Holy”) averaged 2.34 million viewers 18-49, up 2 percent from the previous high of 2.29 million members of the demo (August 3). When compared to last week’s episode, Tuesday’s Covert Affairs was up 15 percent among the 18-49 set.
USA enjoyed similar gains in the 25-54 demo, as Covert averaged 2.41 million, an increase of 11 percent versus the prior week and 3 percent better than the 2.34 million high-water mark set on August 3.
Through six episodes, Covert Affairs is averaging 5.13 million viewers and 2.18 million viewers 18-49.
Meanwhile, lead-in White Collar put together its biggest night since January 19, 2010, averaging 4.48 million total viewers, of which 1.92 million were viewers 18-49 and 1.83 million were adults 25-54. Those demo deliveries represent respective growth of 33 percent and 24 percent when compared to the previous week.
