Univision Communications moved quickly to name a new president of its 63-station Television Group. On Monday, the Spanish-language broadcaster named Joanne Lynch to replace Terry Mackin, who exited suddenly last week after a brief five-month run.
Lynch was most recently senior vp and general manager of Univision's cable network, Galavision, where she was responsible for programming, promotions and operations. She will be based in New York and will report to Ray Rodriguez, president and COO of Univision.
Since she joined the company in 1991, Lynch has held several positions of increasingly responsibility. Prior to Galavision, she served as vp of national sales for Univision's southeast region. Her career also includes experience working for Cox Broadcasting and TK Communications.
Sebastian Trujillo, senior vp and operating manager of the Galavision Network, will assume Lynch's responsibilities at Galavision, reporting to Rodriguez.
