TED's Inspirational Talks Are Coming to Your TV, but Not in English

TED is launching its first TV series in the U.S., though it won't be in English.

The global nonprofit known for its popular TEDTalks has partnered with Miami-based Spanish-language broadcaster Vme TV for a 13-episode series called Soy TED.

Rather than just repurpose TEDTalks (the organization makes them available online), Vme TV chairman Eduardo Hauser will lead discussions geared toward the Hispanic community. Guests already confirmed to appear include former NASA astronaut Franklin Chang Diaz; Carlos Páez, one of 16 survivors of the crash of Uruguayan Air Force Flight 571 (which inspired the 1993 film Alive) who went on to a career in advertising; and Ismael Cala, a journalist and motivational speaker.
