Steve Herbst, most recently senior vp, broadcasting and general manager of NBA TV, has been named executive vp and general manager of CBS College Sports Network, where he will oversee the day-to-day operations of the network.
He fills one role previously handled by Tony Petitti, who left to become president and CEO of the MLB Network. But in addition to oversight over the College Sports Network, Petitti was also executive producer of CBS Sports.
Herbst helped launch NBA TV in 1999, Prior to that he was senior director of production for NBA Entertainment from 1995-99.
