Based on the metered market (overnight) numbers from Nielsen Media Research, the series-finale of CBS Television Distribution talk show Oprah rose to a whopping 13.3 household rating on Wednesday. Comparably, this was its highest-rated single telecast in 17 years (since Feb. 21, 1994). Note: this number is preliminary and does not include the St. Louis market, which was pre-empted for coverage of storms.
Combined with the Monday and Tuesday Oprah telecasts this week (“Surprise Farewell” – Monday: 10.2, Tuesday: 10.7), Oprah’s average through Wednesday is an 11.4 household rating. Total viewing results will be released in two weeks.
