The NFL Network is planning to televise a record 54 preseason NFL games this August, with a record 42 of them being produced in high definition, up from 32 last season. Eight of the games will be live on NFL Network and the rest will be televised on tape delay. Two of the live games will be NFL Network productions. The others will use local feeds.
The cable network is scheduled to televise 52 of the 65 preseason games that will be played, over a period of 26 days next month, either live or on tape delay.
The two live games will be Sunday, Aug. 17 at 8 p.m., when the New England Patriots play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers; and on Sunday, Aug. 24 at 8 p.m., when the Buffalo Bills play the Indianapolis Colts.
