GroupM has renewed its radio ratings contract with Arbitron, signing a multi-year deal for Arbitron’s radio ratings services in all portable people meter and diary markets. The new contract, announced Tuesday (June 15) covers ratings services and Tapscan for all of GroupM’s WPP agencies including Maxus, MEC, MediaCom and Mindshare.

The deal with Arbitron comes at a time when Nielsen has been pitching radio stations and agencies to extend its year-old radio ratings service into more markets beyond the initial 51 small and mid-size markets.
