Sci Fi Channel, We tv and Ion have secured separate off-net rights packages for CBS Television Distribution's supernatural drama Ghost Whisperer.
Although terms were not disclosed, sources said the three deals were valued at around $700,000 per episode.
Once the rights to Ghost kick in next fall, Sci Fi will run the show in a weekly four-hour prime time stack, offering viewers the opportunity to tune in for "mini-marathons" of the Jennifer Love Hewitt vehicle.
We and Ion also will begin carrying the show in fall 2009.
"Ghost Whisperer is an incredible addition to Sci Fi's programming inventory," said Thomas Vitale, senior vp of programming and original movies, Sci Fi Channel. "As part of Sci Fi's prime time lineup, Ghost Whisperer will appeal to our existing audience, while bringing in new viewers, including more women."
The Sci Fi acquisition was part of a larger deal that will bring a number of CBS properties to the cable channel. In addition to Ghost, Sci Fi has picked up the rights to CBS library titles like Star Trek: The Next Generation, Charmed, Early Edition, Highlander, Friday the Thirteenth: The Series and Mork & Mindy.
Star Trek: The Next Generation will premiere on Sci Fi June 2.
