Emmis' WRKS Rated No. 1 in N.Y.

For the first since 1995, WRKS-FM, Emmis Communications’ Urban Adult Contemporary station in New York, was No. 1 in the ratings overall, according to the Spring Arbitron survey, which began releasing Monday (July 21). Toppling perennial leader WLTW-FM, Clear Channel’s Adult Contemporary station, WRKS’ ratings leaped a full share point, from 3.9 to 4.9.

Pulling second place was Clear Channel CHR/Top 40 WHTZ-FM, which retreated 5.0 to 4.8, while longtime WLTW sank 5.1-4.4. Rounding out the top five, Inner City Urban AC WBLS-FM improved 4.2
