Clear Channel Radio Monday (Aug. 19) extended the contracts of six key senior executives: Evan Harrison, Susan Karis, Mark Kopelman, Gene Romano, Tom Schurr and George Toulas.
The San Antonio-based broadcaster also promoted Harrison, Kopelman and Toulas to newly created positions that will expand their roles within the company.
Harrison was named president of the company's online music & radio unit, retaining his executive vp title.
Kopelman and Toulas rise from senior vice presidents to executive vice presidents of operations for mid-major markets. Kopelman and Toulas join Schurr and Karis, who now lead major markets in the Eastern and Western regions, respectively, as executive vice presidents.
Senior vp of programming Romano was elevated to executive vp of programming. In his expanded role, Romano will work with Karis in the Western major markets.
"These individuals are key members of our executive management team and have helped build our audiences while turning competing technologies into collaborators. They will continue to push our outstanding content deeper into our current digital platforms as well as new ones," said John Hogan, president and CEO of CC Radio.
Hogan recently signed a five-year agreement to remain at the helm of the company's radio division. Since then he has been realigning his senior and executive management for the division.
