Whitney Holland has been named vp of program planning, scheduling and acquisitions, Bravo.

In her new role, Holland will oversee short- and long-term program planning for the network, and supervise acquisitions for Bravo. Based in New York, she’ll report to Jerry Leo, Bravo’s senior vp, program strategy and acquisitions.

Prior to joining Bravo, Holland put in some time at Discovery Communications. In September 2008, she was named vp of program planning for Animal Planet; before that, she served as director of scheduling for TLC.

Previously, Holland was vp of Nielsen Entertainment, heading up the West Coast division and working with a roster of clients that included CBS, UPN and Discovery. She began her TV career at Paramount Pictures Worldwide Television, where she worked her way up to vp of research.

“Whitney brings her expansive cable and entertainment experience, intuitive program planning abilities and an overall passion for all things television to Bravo, “Leo said. “She is a welcome addition to the network as we continue to envision strategies to surpass our...programming and viewership goals.”
