ABC has announced two new comedies, Mr. Sunshine and Happy Endings, in its midseason programming slate.

Sunshine stars former Friends actor Matthew Perry as the manager of a sports stadium in San Diego, who realizes on his 40th birthday that he cannot just get by on his charming, funny and noncommittal ways anymore. The show will open on Wednesday, Feb. 9 at 9:30 p.m. ET in place of Cougar Town, which takes a temporary break.

Happy Endings, the ensemble tale of a group of close-knit friends who have to face the fact that the center of their existence—“perfect” couple Dave and Alex—have split, kicks off on Wednesday, April 13 at 10 p.m. ET out of returning Cougar Town and into encore telecasts of Modern Family themed “Fan Favorites.”
