Verizon to Court: Kill Net Neutrality Rules (Updated)
Verizon is taking its opposition to the Federal Communications Commission’s new net neutrality rules to court. On Thursday, the telecom giant filed a lawsuit in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia, which ruled against the FCC in a similar case last year.
“Today’s filing is the result of a careful review of the FCC’s order. We are deeply concerned by the FCC’s assertion of broad authority for sweeping new regulation of broadband networks and the Internet itself,” said Michael Glover, Verizon’s deputy general counsel.
