Since the iPad launch, countless magazines have released apps for the tablet. But many have largely resembled their print counterparts. Rather than emulating print, Punch Media wanted to create something entirely tablet-native when developing its eponymous pop culture publication. Named after the British satirical title, Punch exists soley on the iPad-and you won't mistake it for a digital version of any magazine you've seen. Each editorial feature resides in its own mini-app, so you get to interact with a story about, say, celebrity airplane breakdown. As the company's saying goes, "You don't read Punch, you play Punch."
